Artist are invited to submit entries for this year’s Staffordshire Moorlands Open Art Exhibition which is held at the Nicholson Gallery a wonderful location to showcase your artistic flair.
Clare Mellor and Georgia Hamilton-Smith organisers of the exhibition have been overwhelmed in previous years by the quality and range of art that has been submitted from across the region and beyond. Last year saw a range of artists both new and existing, showcasing their art with a broad spectrum of creative talent.
Clare Mellor said ‘once again we would like to invite artists located around the area and beyond to consider entering their work into the exhibition. This is a true Open which means you don’t have to be a professional artist to enter your work, we have seen some extraordinary talent from artists in previous years. We are looking for art that covers photography, painting & drawing, contemporary applied art and sculpture.
Georgia Hamilton-Smith advised, ‘last year we had a number of new artists joining the exhibition for the first time, we would love to build upon previous success and invite more newcomers again this year. The exhibition runs from Saturday 18th April to Saturday 23rd May and art should be handed in on Saturday 11th April at the Nicholson Gallery between 10.30am and 3pm. Up to 3 submissions can be made for an entry fee of £10.’

The organisers run the exhibition voluntarily and any funds raised are ploughed back into the event providing prize money for a 2D/3D category and photographic category prize alongside a public vote prize and an SMDC sponsored prize too.
