Over 12-14 December, The Peacock is offering guests a first – ever Christmas weekend experience in conjunction with historic Haddon Hall, including a private carol concert in Haddon Hall’s ancient chapel – not usually open for services to the public – followed by a black tie fine-dining dinner at the hotel and all-day access to Haddon Hall’s special Christmas opening the following day.

On the evening of Friday 12th December, join Lord and Lady Edward Manners at an exclusive carol concert in the wonderfully atmospheric medieval chapel at Haddon Hall, which will be lit by candlelight and adorned with winter decorations that shall enhance its splendour.

Listen to the choir singing hymns from within the chapel’s ancient walls, which, at over 900 years old, have witnessed services of the Manners family over the centuries, making the building resonate with history.

Following the concert, guests will return to the cosy and chic Haddon Estate hotel – The Peacock at Rowsley – just minutes from Haddon Hall, to enjoy a seasonal fine-dining menu prepared by Michelin-trained head chef, Dan Smith.

On Saturday, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary entry to Haddon Hall’s Christmas opening event – titled ‘A Manners Family Christmas’ and featuring guided tours, Christmas food, crafts, bell ringing and St Nicholas in the Parlour. Guests will then have the rest of the day to enjoy Derbyshire, followed by a three-course a la carte dinner that evening.

This two-night exclusive package starts from £720 for two people to enjoy accommodation in one of 14 comfortable en suite bedrooms or one suite – all of which are furnished with antique furniture and the finest fabrics – breakfast, carol concert, post-concert fine dining meal, entry to Haddon Hall at Christmas on the Saturday and a la carte dinner on the Saturday evening.

The Peacock’s Head Chef, Dan Smith, worked with Tom Aikens in London and The Peacock has been awarded 3 Rosettes for food by the AA.
