The annual Secret Gardens of Tissington Day will take place in the village of Tissington on Sunday 3 August 2014 in aid of St Mary’s Church
10 private gardens will open on Sunday in aid of St Mary’s Church. From the ten acre garden of Sir Richard & Lady FitzHerbert to the pretty cottage gardens, the sites are situated around the picturesque Derbyshire Village.
Refreshments will be available from 10am at Herbert’s Fine English Tearooms and entry to the gardens can be obtained by purchasing a map of the gardens from the Hall gates and at Herbert’s.
Sir Richard commented’ We are thrilled that ten gardens and the Tissington Nursery are to open in aid of the Church Roof. We have had a hot summer so far but the gardening efforts of the village have been superb and we hope as many people as possible can visit these lovely gardens. We dearly need funds for the next project at St Mary’s Church, the mending of the roof. The village looks forward to welcoming you’.
