Christmas Lights Switch on at 6.45pm by The Glossop Midwifery Team
There has been a great response to the announcement that the honour of switching on the lights has moved away from celebrity to local heroes. The committee were delighted when Napoli Restaurant offered to host a reception for our local midwives:
Ben Shehu from the Restaurant said “When I first heard that the midwives were going to switch on the Christmas Lights this year I wanted to do something to thank them, along with the rest of Glossop, for the great work they do in our community. Napoli Restaurant are proud to be hosting the reception for them.
The festival has been organised by volunteers from various community groups from Glossop Anglican and RC churches to Friends of Glossop Market and Glossop Community Radio. Prior to the Christmas Lights switch on there will be activities and entertainment on two stages and in the streets as well as a huge Christmas market.
Note: On the day the midwives and the High Peak Mayor’s representative The Deputy Mayor and party will be available to the press for photographs and comments in Napoli Restaurant on Norfolk Square from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
