Locally born violinist and vocalist Lizzie Ball returns to Hathersage again this year, to perform a charity concert for one night only on Tuesday 9th July … from 6pm in the Sportsfield Gala Marquee. Lizzie’s all-star band features Nicholas Meir and Peter Oxley on guitars, Sam Burgess on bass and Paul Calviacuti on drums.
Lizzie’s career as a multi-genre musician has taken her all over the world. Most notably she is lead violinist for Nigel Kennedy and his Orchestra for Life, who will be featured in this year’s BBC Proms at the Albert Hall. She featured as violinist for rock star legend Jeff Beck, with whom she recently performed at the Madison Square Garden Stadium in New York to an audience of 20,000 people, as the headline act for Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival.
Lizzie and her band also regularly perform at the infamous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho, where she has created her very own unique classical music night ‘Classical Kicks’, which has been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike.
Lizzie’s concert in Hathersage will include something for everyone, from jazz standards to Beatles covers! The event is organised and sponsored by the Hathersage Branch of the Royal British Legion. Tickets are £15 each and available from firstname.lastname@example.org (tel: 01433 650104) and all proceeds from the concert will go to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
