Following a record number of entries for the Midlands Family business awards, the shortlist has been announced. Derbyshire based fine jewellers, CW Sellors, have been shortlisted for the Manufacturing Excellence Award which has been launched this year. The awards will be judged by different panels of independent judges through an interview process.
The Manufacturing Excellence category is a new award for 2012 and is for family businesses across all manufacturing industries that can demonstrate success across a range of measures, including product and market development, financial growth and success, sourcing of raw materials, and how you find and retain skilled workers.
Last year, CW Sellors were shortlisted for the Family Business of the Year & Service Excellence Awards and received runner up for the Family Business of the Year. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 8th November.
Diane Sellors, director of the family business, commented “These awards are a brilliant way to recognise the talented businesses in the Midlands; it is a huge honour to be shortlisted for the awards for the second year, especially in the new category for manufacturing which is what our business stems from.”
Entries have been received from organisations operating across the length and breadth of the region, from Birmingham, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire, to Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Lincolnshire. Family run and owned businesses large and small have entered this year, from those employing more than 3000, to businesses with less than 25 employees and is organised by the Wilson Organisation.
