GET DANCING IN CHESTERFIELD THIS SEPTEMBER

Chesterfield will once again host an amazing display of dance styles on Saturday 8 September when the Day of Dance takes place at Rykneld Square (next to the Crooked Spire Church) in the town centre.

The event will kick off at 10.30am and there will be a continuous programme of dancing right through to 3.30pm. Why not come along and find out more about different types of dance styles and you never know, you may get a chance to take part as well.

Firm favourites Chesterfield Morris and Garland Teams, Feet First Appalachian Dancers, the Byrne School of Irish Dancing, Belly Dance Flames, Tango Chesterfield and Brunito with his popular Salsa Dancing are all back again. New for this year is Cheerleading, Zumba, Burlesque and Hip Hop from Unit 3 who performed on Sky 1’s ‘Got to Dance’ in 2012.

Cllr Amanda Serjeant from Chesterfield Borough Council said: “The Day of Dance is a chance to celebrate the many different dance styles on offer locally.  It’s not just a great event to watch but hopefully will inspire some people to take up a new hobby that’s fun and can help improve overall fitness.”

If you like what you’ve seen, and want to find out more, all the dance groups performing run classes locally and will be happy to give you details.

There will also be the opportunity to view Chesterfield’s completed well dressing on the pump in the market place.
