The 4th and 5th August sees Don Valley, Sheffield transform into a unique festival of sport, music and culture. See Lawson, Misha B, Stooshe, Marcus Collins, Joe McElderry, Noisettes, Lemar, The Lightning Seeds plus much more! Zorbing, boxing, ice skating and basketball are among 17 sports and activities available to try for free at Sheftival. A whole range of Olympic sports will be showcased, all of which will feature among have-a-go sessions.
You can also watch the Olympics with all your friends and family in the Viewing Zone featuring a massive 48 square metre TV screen. Cheer Jess Ennis on and watch Usain Bolt break the land speed record with live Olympic screenings. It’s the region’s biggest communal Olympic Games Viewing Zone with a week of free viewing in the build up to the Sheftival weekend.
Brought to you by Sheffield International Venues in conjunction with Real Radio and Tramlines the event includes over 80 bands, spread over 25 acres, boasting eight stages, over 1,000 performers, and 25 sports to have-a-go in.
Three markets, a huge fairground, a variety of food stalls, twelve bars, a giant bungee and a lot more. It’s the only place in Yorkshire this summer where you can immerse yourself in Olympics celebrations by watching the Games on a giant screen in Don Valley, and then head onto Don Valley Bowl for live music in pop, indie, reggae, ska, electronic dance, 2-tone, and everything else in between.
A ticket to Sheftival will grant you free ice-skating in iceSheffield, a demonstration by the Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team and the biggest foam party in the country. From as little as £10 a ticket, it’s an exceedingly good deal!
With a crazy mixture of music, sport, civic pride, food, drink and entertainment, Sheftival is a great excuse for a party. This is the Olympic Games done festival style.
