Talented local chefs will be championing Derbyshire produce, as well as showing audiences how to create mouth-watering dishes at Buxton Festival in July.
Buxton Festival is well known for its opera, music and literature events, but it is also set to get the taste buds of their national, regional and local visitors tingling, with interactive cookery demonstrations to share the Taste of the Peaks with audiences, as well as presenting art demonstrations by successful local artists.
On 20 July AA rosette holder Simon Bradley from East Lodge Country House Hotel will show off his culinary skills, followed by AA rosette holder Todd Carroll from Buxton’s Nat’s Kitchen on 10 July, while chefs from the Tideswell School of Food show audiences how to create a delicious meal with excellent local produce on 14 and 24 July at their hugely popular cookery school.
New to the Festival this year are fascinating art demonstrations that will shed light on the unusual mixed-media techniques employed by the artists commissioned to create the Buxton Festival brochure front cover images in 2011 and 2012, with the brilliant Rob Wilson (8 July) and Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp (15 July).
